Sharing Moments With A Friend

We're back at the West-coast after spending two weeks at home in Copenhagen. Walking the old neighborhood reunited Tilde with many of the friends she was used to meet almost every day.

A couple of friends had made new family members in the mean time, and she had to give those puppies an extra sniff before welcoming them to her old hood. She was especially glad to see Frida, who once was the first dog to welcome Kenzo to the neighborhood when he was a puppy. Later Frida became friends with Tilde too.

The icing on the cake was when we started the car to visit Emil who doesn't live too far from where we live. Emil was equally glad to see Tilde again, as you can witness in this video on Hovawart TV: When Friends Meet Again. They get along so well those two, not only because they both are Hovawarts, but also because of that special bond they themselves have forged over time. Emil is by far Tilde's most shining star.

On the West-coast, where people and dogs are merely passing by for one or two weeks of vacation, there is no opportunity for Tilde to make longtime friends. I think she needs it though. To have a friend, like Emil, or like Kenzo was for her. A friend, she can share moments with every day. Back when Kenzo welcomed Tilde, and before her Viva, he knew, the best moments are always the ones you can share with friends. It's the stuff memories are made of.

I am afraid it didn't work out with the future-puppy-to-be I wrote about half a year ago. Heaven and earth were moved to make it happen. But it was to no avail.

It doesn't mean we'll give up. After witnessing Tilde's pleasure in meeting old friends over the last two weeks, I am even more convinced and determined than before, and will seek new paths. Tilde could really use a friend to share those moments with. On to new beginnings, once more.

  2. Get a friend for her...when Simon passed Schuster did not know what to do and was lost...we got Sawyer only two weeks later and it was the best decision...hard to open my heart to a new dog but watching them just love each other was worth it..they are besties
