We Are Getting Naked With Edie

It's time to get naked. Edie Jarolim is a writer who inspires me. Give me any book, article or blog post. If she wrote it, I want to read it.

The subject really doesn't matter. I got acquainted with Edie through her blog Will My Dog Hate Me, read her book, Am I Boring My Dog?, followed Edie over at Freud's Butcher, a blog about her Viennese family roots, psychology, and meat. Whatever the subject was, she always inspired me to read and learn through her unique voice. A voice that is always different and always entertaining. Edie simply writes like nobody else can.

I was thrilled to learn when Edie revealed her plan to write her memoir, "Getting Naked For Money: An Accidental Travel Writer Reveals All", covering the period before the time of writing pet books and blogs, about her days as a travel guide editor in London and New York, and later, as a freelance travel and food writer based from Tucson, Arizona.

No, it will not be about how Edie slept her way to the top. She did get naked though, for an all revealing magazine assignment to a nudist resort. If that makes you feel slightly misguided, you'll love the book.

Of course Edie takes on the project of writing her book "Edie-style", meaning getting out of her comfort zone, once again. Instead of getting an advance from a big publishing company, she decided to crowd-fund her book on Kickstarter and thereby give us readers a great opportunity to join her for the ride.

There is only one week left before Edie's funding project on Kickstarter ends. It's all or nothing. If Edie doesn't hit her target by the end of next week, there will be no book. Now is the time. You only have such an opportunity once. Pledge 10 dollars or more on Edie's Kickstarter project page. You'll receive the e-book for free before it is published to the public and join her for the ride while she is writing the book.

We made our pledge and are getting naked with Edie. It will be racy she promised. I bet it will be entertaining too. Get ready to be inspired.

  1. This is a wonderful post. I don't know how to thank you enough for it. I just wanted to point out that you can get an e-book also by contributing $10 -- not $15. With a $10 contribution, the only thing missing is a progress report, which some people are happy not to have anyway ;-)

    1. You're welcome Edie. I will correct it in the text.
